Baseline Study for Assisting Communities in Creating Environmental and Nutritional Development (ACCEND) Project
This assignment conducting as the Baseline survey for implementing the ACCEND project. The ACCEND project has clearly defined overall objective, outcome, intermediate outcomes and outputs as stated in the log frame with indicators. It is vital for the project to ensure that the intended results are achieved within the project timeframe by comparing against the baseline data that will be collected through this process.
The main districts focused through this assignment in Uva and Central provinces are Nuwaraeliya, Monaragala and Matale. It is understood that these districts involve with Plantation industry and have limited access to resources when compared with other districts. Therefore, a baseline survey is required to identify if the objectives of the ACCEND project is relevant and specific to be implemented for the above selected districts.
In order to conduct the bassline survey, MTS have provided expert consultants in fields such as health and nutrition, WASH and gender. From developing the household questionnaire, KII and FGD guidelines to conduct the field survey gather information is handlined by the firm. Data entering analyzing and final report preparation and providing recommendations to proceed the project for next three years was also done by the assigned staff of the firm.
